Green Beijing, Low Carbon Lifestyles

The 2010 Green Long March was launched at Beijing Forestry University on Saturday, April 3rd. Numerous representatives from the environmental and education sectors were greeted by an array of colorful performances and enthusiastic student volunteers representing 80 universities from across the country. 2010 Green Seed Award winners were also announced during this weekend’s Opening Ceremony. National training for the fourth annual Green Long March took place April 1nd through April 5th. Numerous representatives from the environmental and education sectors were greeted by an array of colorful performances and enthusiastic student volunteers representing 80 universities from across the country.

Green Long March 2009 Opening Ceremony



May, 2009

April 4 marked the official launch of the 2009 Green Long March! Over 8,000 youth environmentalists, student leaders and supporters came together under a promising blue sky to listen to government officials, university leaders, GLM volunteers, and Green Ambassadors proclaim their support. In the afternoon, volunteers conducted an awareness campaign at the Olympic Park while at the same time over 200 students planted trees at Zhoukoudian, outside Beijing.
